Jeet Kune Do was founded in the 1960's
by the late Bruce Lee. Although he never intended the Art to have a name, he did want to separate principles and philosophy
so people would understand the difference. Lee's principles make interception work in JKD but more importantly,
they provide a philosophical foundation to a an individual understanding beyond physical limitations. This of course
is the goal of Jeet Kune Do rather than always trying to prove yourself through competition, debates, or throwing together
your own ideas. Unfortunately, even 35 years after Lee's passing, many people have mis-interpreted the training and
created their own personal expression of the art based on books, pictures, and movies in which Lee appeared.
Lee had several students througout
his lifetime that understood his approach to Interception. One student remains loyal in this approach and has the life force
to prove it. This student is none other than world renowned JKD Instructor, Jerry Poteet.
Since
an attack is unpredictable in nature, Jeet Kune Do helps you to develop instinctive reflexes that allows you to 'Fit In'to any threat regardless of size or strength. No pre-arranged
movements are stressed and the individual has the freedom to defend themselves with no limitaions. Discover your innate abilities
while increasing your physical strength, flexibility and endurance. This will boost your self-confidence, ability to concentrate
and focus, and teaches you how to deal with everyday stress in a positive manner. This will lead the individual to discover
balance and harmony within themselves while inspiring them to develop a solid foundation for a successful life.
